Basic Information
Ljubuški – Kula is one of the reliable paragliding sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A considerable number of takeoffs have been recorded, often exceeding 1,000 per year. The cross-country flying season runs from April to September.
The launch site has sufficient space with approximately 1,000 m² of artificial turf, installed in 2020.
Important Notices
Caution is advised during spring and summer in the early afternoon hours, when valley winds mixed with thermal winds often exceeding 10 m/s can create strong turbulence.

Airspace
The airspace is restricted due to proximity to the Mostar CTR. Study the restrictions before takeoff.
Location and Access
The easiest way to reach the Stari Grad Ljubuški viewpoint (Kula Herceg Stjepana) is on foot from the center of Ljubuški. The ascent starts near St. Catherine’s Church, from where a well-marked trail—partly paved and partly gravel—leads to the site. The walk takes about 20–30 minutes and offers panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
Access to the launch site is easy and possible by passenger car or local taxi from the city, with taxis to the Kula launch site being available at affordable prices.
Elevation
The launch site is located on a ridge at an altitude of 330 m above sea level. Landing is on a grassy area west of the settlement at an altitude of 85 m above sea level (approximately 245 m of elevation difference).
